Austerlitz Insect Pins®
Manufactured in Czech Republic, handmade product. These good quality pins come in two kinds: Black enameled and stainless steel. Black enameled pins are made of spring steel with nylon heads, and two coats of black enamel for anti-rust protection. Insect pins with stainless steel shafts and nylon heads are used primarily in humid climates. Minutiens are also available.
Pin sizes 1,2,3, and 4 are for most insects, sizes 5,6, and 7 are for heavy - bodied ones; and 000,00, and 0 are for small ones. Minutiens are short pins without heads, used for double mounting of very small insects.
